Fill the world with God’s love

“You love honesty and justice; Your faithful love fills the earth.” – Psalm 33:5, The Psalms in Inclusive Language

“Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.” The first line of this familiar hymn challenges everyone who yearns for peace and justice as the world is embroiled in strife.

On Peace with Justice Sunday, celebrated the first Sunday after Pentecost, United Methodists take seriously the invitation to “Let it begin with me.” Thanks to the generosity of caring, committed Christians, nearly $50,000 in Peace with Justice grants was awarded last year to 20 organizations across the United States and in such distant places as Croatia and the Philippines.

Along with the expected emphasis on peace and justice, the ministries benefiting from the offering focus on educations, employment, family and youth outreach, homelessness, landmine bans, mental health and social action.

Your offering on Peace with Justice Sunday reflects God’s faithful love throughout the earth:
♦ People of all ages learn alternatives to violence.
♦ New resources foster global justice.
♦ Violence is stopped, and peace is resorted.

God loves honesty and justice, and God’s faithful love fills the earth. In turn, God calls each of us to respond lovingly to all of God’s children! With God’s guiding hand, we can help to bring peace and justice to a hurting world. Please give generously on Peace with Justice Sunday. Your gift makes a world of difference.
